Degue

Guin ceremonial dessert

Degue is the dessert of grand occasions in Guin culture. Made from fermented millet, sweetened and flavored, it is served at weddings, baptisms and year-end ceremonies. Its creamy texture and slightly tangy taste make it appreciated across generations. The preparation is a domestic ritual: millet is fermented for one to two days, then mixed with sweetened milk and sometimes grated coconut.
